ח"כ מתן כהנא מהמחנה הממלכתי, התייחס לפני זמן קצר להחלטתו של השר גולדקנוף לבטל את השתתפותו בטקסי יום הזיכרון וזאת בשל מחאת השמאל וקרא לו לחזור בו.

כהנא כתב בעקבות הודעת השר יצחק גולדקנופף לפיה לא ישתתף בטקס יום הזיכרון לחללי מערכות ישראל ונפגעי פעולות האיבה בעקבות בקשות המשפחות השכולות. "אני רואה שהשר גולדקנופף ביטל את השתתפותו בטקס יום הזיכרון ובעקבותיו עוד ח"כים חרדים. אני מבין את השיקול שלו אבל אין לי אלא להצטער על כך. כבוד השר, אני מבקש ממך לשקול שנית את החלטתך".
